At CycleToScience, we catalog scientific sites that you can reach by bicycle and public transit. We are working at the intersection of fundamental science, urban planning, bicycling advocacy, and placemaking.

Our bigger picture vision is to turn more scientific laboratories into mainstream cultural epicenters, along the lines of town squares, grand libraries, or historic monuments. At these sites, humanity is probing the deeply mysterious nature of mind, planet, galaxy, and universe from atomic to cosmological scales. Despite their significant missions, real science labs tend to remain surprisingly siloed, with very limited and often highly curated access. We believe that many of these sites could take on far greater significance in and around cities by radically rethinking how they are creating a sense of place in the urban landscape.

For now, sites are located in Greater Boston.
